“easy fresh salsa recipe the best canned fresh salsa recipe”

Hi, Mary Jane, I have been searching for the type of salsa that doesn’t use tomatoes. Your description sounds like the salsa I get at my local taco truck. I would love your Gma’s recipe. Hope you’ll post to this site! And, Dana, this is very similar to the salsa I make all the time. The only difference is I put in chipotle and adobo sauce to it an extra smokiness and kick! Thanks

going to make my first batch tonight of this. My kids eat salsa and chips like its the best in the world. From all the reviews I saw, sounds like a winner. I wanted to spice the heat up, but wife said no! maybe will do my own batch since i like fire. will let you know how it turns out.

You know that salsa you get at Mexican restaurants the minute you walk in with lots of chips, well that’s my favorite salsa ever and I’ve never been able to get that out of a jar. But salsa is simple enough that you can make yourself at home with a handful of fresh ingredients.

Luckily, a few new fresh salsas have hit the Vancouver marketplace to give the old salsa a run for its money. But I don’t really care, because now I have the secret to truly amazing salsa. Make it yourself! I got the basic gist of it from my friend and neighbour, Becka, whose husband whipped up a mean batch at a holiday party. The best thing was that he used canned tomatoes! Seriously, this is a game changer in my very small salsa world. He also used a food processor and that is key to the salsa’s success. I recently was gifted one from my dad and this salsa has rocked my world ever since.

Ha! That’s too funny! Sometimes I just see the perfect related post title from a friend and don’t even check it out b/c I know all their stuff is great. I wonder if Donielle got more or less visits b/c people though it was an odd salsa? Whoops! Glad I could give you a chuckle, anyway!

Please help! My husband and I made one batch of this ridiculously amazing salsa last night. We plan to make another today. We do have some smallish air bubbles in a few jars. Is this a problem? We followed your recipe exactly, but will use our bubble removing tool this time. We can still give these as gifts, right??

This quick-and-easy salsa tastes great as an accompaniment to meat dishes as well as with chips. I teach kindergarten and my husband is a county Extension agent. We’ve lived down here in the Imperial Valley for 30 years. I say “down here” because Holtville is 15 feet below sea level!

Serve Green Tomato Salsa as an appetizer with chips or a topping on Green Tomato Chile Verde. This recipe only calls for 6 ingredients and comes together in a snap. We love the mix of flavors from the tomatoes, onion, cilantro, and jalapeño.

Although the jarred stuff can be found at every turn, making fresh salsa at home takes little effort and there’s no better way to bring the fresh flavors of the garden together with such versatility. Depending on what you’re growing this year, any manner of vegetables and herbs may be plucked from the home garden and included to meet any taste.

Angela: I am glad peppers freeze well. Last year I was planning to can a large batch of salsa, but lost all my tomatoes to late blight. The peppers were measured out, chopped and frozen for later use. Worked out in the end.

Made this for our annual Halloween Bash! And it was GONE! A perfect fresh salsa, and so easy to make. So many people asked for the recipe. I did use only one small habanero. Still super spicy. It is a keeper and is now my ONLY tomato salsa recipe. No more roasting, baking or complications.
